RC self driving car (on hold)

This is a hobby project to test my own skill level right now the RC car is opperated with an arduino microcontroller. Using an USB host shield it is opperatable via Xbox 360 controller. For sensors it has a self constructed RPM meter working on a Reed contact. I have experianced some problems with the reed contact sensor as interupts of the microcontroller cause issues with the timings. right now the plan is to use an FPGA to handel the in and out puts and using a rasberry pi for the controller. This also will increase my knowledge up on both FPGA and Rasberry pi in the use of robotic systems
